Only Christ is able to Remove Our Strongest Human Concepts, Gonzalo Moreno

I am 37 years old and I was born in Mexico. My father was a soldier and my mother was Catholic. We are a family of 13 and I had little schooling.

Regarding my concept towards God, I was atheistic. I migrated to the United States as a young person. My life in the USA was like any other immigrant with my Mexican background except for my strong atheistic concept toward God. One day a friend invited me to a Bible study meeting. I accepted his invitation and was asked if I'd like to receive Christ as my Savior there. I told the speaker, “How can I receive someone whom I do not know and have never seen? I will continue to come and prove whether or not Christ is real.” The following day there was a joy in my being and tears of gratefulness towards God because Christ Himself had shown me that He is real. My atheistic concepts that I had towards this marvelous Person were removed.

I always have been a serious person with my Bible reading. I have studied the Bible for more than 11 years. I love this marvelous book, and I honor those who cut straight the Word of God without any self-interest (2 Timothy 2:15b).

I believe that Watchman Nee and Witness Lee were such people. Their writings have helped me to see four points that the Bible reveals and I believe are crucial--Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church. My Christian life depends on these four things. Regarding Christ and life, in John 14:6 the Lord says “I...am the life” and in Colossians 3:4 Paul says “when Christ our life....” Regarding the church, the same Paul returns to say in Ephesians 1:22 and 23 that Christ is the Head of the church and at the same time affirm that the church is the Body of Christ. Even, Paul adds that the church is “the fullness of the One who fills all in all.” Regarding the Spirit, I know that He has led me in every aspect of my Christian life until now, even to write this brief testimony. Today I continue to meet with other Christians in the local church in Austin with the sole purpose of building up the Body of Christ that the Lord may have His expression here on earth.
